Products and Manufacturing Overview
Ceiling Plus provides seven types of ceiling systems, which are made of wood or metal. Clients can choose from a variety of perforation, sound absorption, and light and air handling features. Ceilings Plus provides additional building products, such as column covers, reflectors, architectural enclosures, strip lighting, wall panels, and partitions. Each product is manufactured in-house—at a plant that consists of over 70 Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines. Fully automated, these machines use the latest CAD software and 3-D technology, and none of the units are older than seven years.
LEED Certification
LEED is a certification program that recognizes building strategies and practices committed to green building. Building projects achieve different levels of certification by meeting certain pre-requisites and earning points. The number of points determines the level of LEED certification that the project will receive. There are four certification thresholds: Certified (40-49 points), Silver (50-59 points), Gold (60-79 points), and Platinum (80 points or more). LEED certification applies to five types of projects: Building Design and Construction, Interior Design and Construction, Building Operations and Maintenance, Neighborhood Development, and Homes. LEED is run by the U.S. Green Building Council.
LEED Project Checklist
At Ceilings Plus, clients can use the LEED Project Checklist to ensure that the company’s ceiling and wall panel systems meet the certification program’s green building standards. From their end, Ceilings Plus now uses an alloy that constitutes up to 75 percent post-consumer and 24 percent post-industrial recycled material content. Thus, the company’s panel systems now use 98 percent recycled content, and are consequently more eco-friendly than the aluminum they previously used. Also enhanced are the Arboreal panels, which now have real wood veneers on a recycled aluminum core and might be the company’s greenest wood panel available. Clients have three categories for the LEED Project Checklist: Energy & Atmosphere, Materials & Resources, and Indoor Environmental Quality.
Partnership With Wade Architectural Systems
Ceilings Plus is one of the construction brands distributed by Wade Architectural Systems. Based in the Houston, Texas, the company provides building materials for residential homes and corporate buildings. Wade Architectural Systems has participated in over 2,500 projects since its founding in 1988. Some of Wade’s most recent projects include the Siemens Wind Turbine Nacelle Assembly Facility in Hutchinson, Kansas; the SYSCO Food headquarters in Houston, Texas; and the School of Nursing at the University of Texas Health Science Center, which is also in Houston, Texas. Ceilings Plus is notable for being the only ceiling solutions brand that Wade Architectural Systems provides.
Ceilings Plus has been involved in several notable construction projects throughout the country. They include the American West Arena in Phoenix, Arizona; AOL Time Warner headquarters and the American Museum of Natural History in New York City; the Newseum in Washington, D.C.; and the Arts Media & Communication Building at the California State University, Northridge.
